Gaffer Adam Shillcock adds Seydou Bamba to his backroom staff

We’re delighted to welcome Seydou Bamba to the club, as he joins Shillys backroom team.

Gaffer Adam Shillcock gave us a few words on Seydou joining …

“It was a no brainer in welcoming Seydou to the football club. Someone I’ve known in the game touching on twenty years. He’s professional with a serious amount of experience in the non league game. Having hung up his boots during last season he dipped his toe into a coaching role at Hednesford and has the bug to make a positive impact in his next role within football. We are delighted he’s joined us on our journey here at Alport.

We also managed to get a few words with Seydou:

“This move came about a few weeks after I left Hednesford Town. I was keen to carry on my transition from being a player to a coach after retiring a few months ago. Shilly initially got in touch then, saying there might be an opportunity coming up. I had offers from other clubs as well
I had already spoken to two clubs, and then Shilly got in touch last week. We had a good chat on the phone followed by another in-depth chat at the weekend.

I'm bringing to the club my knowledge of playing in non-league for 18 years. My playing background has been in steps 4-5 and later on step 6. Played for teams such as Atherton Collieries, Prescot Cables, Clitheroe, Kendal Town, and Ramsbottom United, to name a few. I believe my experiences as a player, adding to the way I work with people on and off the pitch, would be valuable to the team, especially the younger players. I am also a scout, so will be helping on the recruitment of players. I'm a firm believer that hard work gets you rewards, and I will be working very hard to help get the club where it wants to be.

Shilly has had a lot of influence in my decision. First of all, I have known Shilly for close to 20 years, so I know how he works and how he wants things done. I've played for him at Market Drayton, and he has also given me the opportunity to coach there, so I was keen to work with him again.
I can't wait to get started”

Welcome to the Alport Seydou
