Joe Minshall sends a message to the Red Army

They say in football not all good things last forever but for Joe Minshall it’s been an incredible journey at Whitchurch Alport!

After six seasons at Yockings Park, making over 180 appearances for the Club it has been mutually agreed for Minsh to now start a fresh challenge closer to home at Kidsgrove Athletic. Loyalty is very few and far between in the modern game but Minsh has been a role model to many in showing loyalty & commitment through good times & difficult times here at Yockings Park.

“Just wanted to wish all the best for the new season to all at Alport . After 6 great seasons, joining from when I left college at 18 to now at 24. I’ll now be playing and training a bit closer to home . I’ve got way too many special people to thank for making my time there so enjoyable and taking so many great memories away, with a special mention to every single one of the supporters who make the club such a special place to play. Can honestly say I wouldn’t go back and change a thing, it’s been some journey!”

Manager Luke Goddard “It’s a sad but proud bit of news this, I’ve become good friends with Joe, tried to help him both in and out of football since ive known him at just 17years old. Got to know his family who are wonderful & so appreciative of the journey we have been on. I don’t think I’ll ever get a player like Joe again in truth, his attitude, his character, have just summed up the fast progression of this Club and the Alport way. Despite in the early days him being written off by many, I stuck by him and he continually proved people wrong and became a huge favourite here. I know he will be missed around the group and club but one day I wouldn’t write him off being back. We wish him all the best in his next challenge”

From everyone here at WAFC sending our best wishes to Minsh, you will always be a legend to us here at Yockings Park and hopefully you’ll get to watch a few games over the season.
