Whitchurch Alport set for move to Midlands Premier Division

BREAKING NEWS

‘Following the FA National Leagues System re-structure we are pleased to announce that the Whitchurch Alport FC mens first team will be playing in the Midland Football League Premier Division commencing the season 2021-22.

The FA re-structure ensures we will still be playing step 5 football but brings us fresh challenges with new clubs to visit and to be welcomed at the KMJ Stadium, Yockings Park.

The club, players and supporters all have a great season to look forward to in the Midlands Premier League, the positive attitude we have in the club towards the move bodes well for a good season both on and off the pitch.

Club officials held a meeting yesterday evening and will not appeal against the decision. The move to the Midlands League Premier Division will bring new challenges and the opportunity to continue our Club’s development both on and off the field of play.

The progression of our Club in the six years with the North West Counties Football League has been remarkable, culminating in our promotion to the Premier Division.
To achieve Step 5 status in such a short period of time is inspiring.

On behalf of the players, team management, Committee and fans here at Whitchurch Alport, we would like to thank the North West Counties League Management Committee for the support and guidance received since our introduction to the League in the 2015/2016 season. You have played a huge part in our evolution.

In summary, we’ve turned the Alport FC roller coaster ride to face the Midland Premier League, we’ll still ride it with pride and enjoy every moment’

The future is exciting and together we cannot wait to kick start our new journey but first we have our Senior Cup to defend.
